Oct 01, 2012
Kerry Behnke the Quality Coordinator at Professional Plating, Inc. became a certified Green Belt in Six Sigma on September 19th in a ceremony in Milwaukee at the Harley Davidson Museum.
Six Sigma is a problem solving based training that combines class study received at Harley Davidson along with completing and presenting a project to a peer group and other supplier candidates at Harley Davidson. Kerry’s project was increasing first pass yields on specified gloss black parts that get powder coated at Professional Plating Inc. in Brillion, WI. www.proplating.com
The seven months of working on the project with PPI team members directly was spent training and involving to actively help solve and help institute changes. The changes then needed to be documented and sustained to make them successful. The project not only increased first pass yields on the project parts but also had a positive impact on many other parts.
The Six Sigma program has given Kerry the tools to help institute problem solving and true root cause analysis throughout all areas of Professional Plating Inc.
