How the Two Layers Work Together
The epoxy e-coat primer is applied first. It covers the entire part evenly, reaching into the tight corners and enclosed spaces where corrosion usually starts. The e-coat leaves a protective base layer across the whole part before the topcoat goes on.
Powder coating is applied next as the topcoat. It forms a thick, tough surface that resists chips, abrasion, and everyday wear, and it carries the color and texture the finished part calls for to meet specifications and customer requirements.

On its own, e-coat provides excellent corrosion resistance, though its film stays thin by design, since its purpose is to protect the metal rather than finish it.
